Committee history

By the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR) of August 29, 1960 No. 460, the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR for the Conservation of Nature was formed.

The Vitebsk Regional Inspectorate for Nature Conservation of the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR for Nature Conservation operated from 1960 to 1988.

In accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR of September 13, 1988 No. 274 ”On the Organizational Structure of the State Committee of the BSSR on Nature Protection” and the order of the State Committee of the BSSR on Nature Protection of October 12, 1988 No. 18, the Vitebsk Regional Inspectorate for Nature Protection was reorganized into the Vitebsk Regional conservation committee.

In accordance with the order of the State Committee on Ecology of the BSSR of December 3, 1990 No. 56, the Vitebsk Regional Committee for Nature Protection was renamed the Vitebsk Regional Committee on Ecology of the State Committee of the BSSR.

On September 19, 1991, the Vitebsk Regional Committee on Ecology of the State Committee of the BSSR was transformed into the Vitebsk Regional Committee on Ecology of the State Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of February 22, 1996 No. 27, the Vitebsk Regional Committee on Ecology was renamed to the Vitebsk Regional Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

August 29, 2010 marked the 50th anniversary of the environmental service of the Republic of Belarus. At the regional and district level, the celebration of the Vitebsk Regional Committee was timed to June 5, World Environment Day.

Until 1967 Odintsov Nikolai Nikolayevich headed the environmental service of the Vitebsk region.

From 1967 to 1980 – Kalina Nikolai Vasilyevich, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. In 2010 (May 27) at the age of 92, he gave an interview for the anniversary program “Ecology and we” and “Ecological Bulletin of the newspaper” Narodnoe slovo “.

For some time he served as chairman of the office Bobovko Viktor Mikhailovich.

From January 10, 1989 to December 15, 1995, the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Committee for Nature Protection was Plavinsky Bronislav Viktorovich.

From December 26, 1995 to August 9, 1999, the oblast committee was headed by Leonid Nikolaevich Kulik.

From 10/27/1988 to 03/21/2001, Evgeny Nikolayevich Makhankov worked as a deputy chairman.

From 10/21/1999 to 03/05/2007, the chairman was Kulakov Vladimir Panteleevich.

From March 6, 2007 to October 27, 2008, the management was carried out by Vasily Mikhailovich Baikov.

P. d. Chairman from October 2008 to August 2009 was Kravchenko Gennady Arkadyevich.

From 9.09.2009 to the present, the Chairman is Ruslan Vinokurov.
